Building a nursery toychest
My wife and I found a great toy chest online, but we had a few significant design critiques: the base didn't have as much storage capacity as we'd like, and the top bookshelf had room for improvement.
I rif'd on that original idea, designing a CAD mockup in Sketchup with a few improvements.
The bucket base was enlarged, making it easy to throw toys in. The bookshelf top is grooved to securely support rows of books. The legs are solid maple, shaped with a router and template; the body is 1/2" plywood.
